Software Developer

Reykjavík University’s Language and Voice Lab (LVL https://lvl.ru.is) is looking to hire a software developer. At the LVL you will be joining a research team working on exciting developments in language technology as a part of the Icelandic Language Technology Programme. The lab is a part of and situated in Reykjavík University where you will be working in an academic environment creating a new generation of language technology products that will benefit a wide audience.

The main goal of the Icelandic Language Technology Programme is to produce open source software and data. The software developer will take part in developing and publishing language technology tools in a robust way.

We seek a software developer, with a minimum of BSc degree in Computer Science (or related fields), with:

• Good programming skills, e.g. in Java, Python, JavaScript.
• Familiarity with containers and container’s orchestration.
• Familiarity with language technology (preferable).
• Good knowledge of the Linux operating system (preferable).
• Good interpersonal and organizing skills.
