Senior software engineer (C++ / HPC / audio)

We are seeking a senior software engineer with substantial experience in low-level software development. The position in question is highly multifaceted, spanning C++ coding, high-performance computing, real-time computing, audio programming, and cloud infrastructure. Your role will be to contribute to the development of our cutting-edge sound simulation and spatial audio algorithms – making them faster, more robust, and flexible. You will join our highly interdisciplinary core engine team and work closely with our experts in acoustics, mathematical modeling, signal processing, machine learning and geometry processing, as well as other software engineers. Relevant background is important, but we also highly value people who are eager to learn and want to expand their skillsets.

You will be responsible for

● Designing and implementing efficient cloud-based acoustic simulation algorithms based on Treble’s proprietary simulation technology
● Optimizing computational performance of massively parallel numerical solvers
● Designing and implementing real-time audio processing algorithms
● Developing large-scale data processing algorithms
● Designing and implementing automatic testing procedures
● Helping shape our software engineering vision and strategy
● Participating in code reviews, as well as supporting and mentoring other team members
● Collaborating with experts in acoustics, audio, mathematical modeling, machine learning, geometry processing and signal processing, along with other software engineers

You will be great for this role if you have

● MSc or PhD degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field, such as software engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, acoustics, electrical engineering, etc
● Strong object-oriented programming skills with C++ in a Linux environment
● Relevant work experience

If you also have experience with the following, this is a plus

● High-performance computing (GPU programming, MPI, OpenMP, CUDA, vectorization, etc)
● Mathematical modeling and scientific computing, e.g. finite element modeling
● Cloud computing concepts and Docker containers
● Audio programming and signal processing
● Game programming and leading game engines, such as Unity and Unreal
● AI and machine learning
● Interest in sound and acoustics
● Interest in virtual and augmented reality
● Knowledge of scrum, agile, git, project management
● Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
● Ability to work in cross-discipline and cross-culture teams
