The Role

As a Senior Platform Engineer at Igloo, you will:
– Lead the architecture and operation of global-scale infrastructure on AWS.
– Build and manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform to ensure consistent, secure, and reproducible environments.
– Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions and related tooling) that enable safe, rapid, and frequent deployments.
– Implement observability, monitoring, and alerting systems for high availability across regions.
– Ensure compliance and security standards are integrated into the platform from day one.
– Multiply your output by leveraging AI agents for infrastructure design, automated testing, and operational orchestration.
– Mentor teammates and help shape Igloo’s AI-first engineering culture, where automation is the default and manual operations are minimized.

What We’re Looking For

• AWS Expertise at Scale

  • Proven experience across key AWS services: EC2, RDS, ECS/EKS, S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, VPC networking, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudFormation.
  • Ability to design globally distributed, highly available, and secure systems.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning, cost optimization, and compliance-aware architectures.

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)

  • Expert-level Terraform knowledge, including modular design, state management, and pipeline automation.

• CI/CD and Automation

  • Strong experience with GitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD platforms.
  • Ability to design pipelines for multi-region deployments, testing, and security gates.

• AI-First Mindset

  • Daily use of AI tools in platform engineering (e.g., generating Terraform modules, auditing configs, automating monitoring).
  • Comfortable orchestrating workflows where AI agents extend infrastructure capabilities.
  • Enthusiasm for pushing the boundaries of agentic operations.

• Security and Reliability

  • Solid understanding of IAM, encryption, network security, and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, etc.).
  • Experience building fault-tolerant, observable systems that self-heal.
