Igloo builds banking-grade financial infrastructure for modern financial institutions and embedded-finance products.
We standardize financial data into a general-purpose ledger core, and from that foundation we build:

• Payment processing engines
• Lending orchestration (credit, amortization, provisioning)
• Bank guarantees & liquidity tooling
• Embedded finance APIs
• ERP integrations (e.g., Business Central)
• CRM & financial operations automation

This is hard-mode fintech — the kind where correctness, auditability, and reliability matter at every step.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Fintech Engineer — or a high-potential, A-Level emerging engineer with the drive and obsession to master fintech and AI-powered development — to join our core engineering team.

You’ll help architect and build our ledger system, financial engines, and the surrounding platform that powers next-generation embedded finance products.

This role is ideal for someone who:

• Loves the intersection of engineering, financial logic, and product design
• Wants to build large-scale financial infrastructure from the ground up
• Naturally thinks in systems, invariants, and auditability
• Is AI-native and knows how to use AI tools to be a 10× engineer, not by working harder but by building smarter

What You Will Work On

• Designing and implementing ledger-based financial systems
• Building payment flows, posting engines, reconciliation logic
• Architecting lending systems, bank guarantee processes, and other financial modules
• Integrating with financial institutions, PSPs, ERPs, banks, and partners
• Building internal tooling, APIs, workflows, and automation around financial products
• Ensuring extreme correctness, safety, and reliability in money-moving systems
• Using AI every day to accelerate engineering work, document systems, synthesize requirements, and analyze financial logic
• Collaborating with finance, compliance, product, and external partners

You’ll own real modules with real money flowing through them.

What We’re Looking For

Engineering & Technical Skills

Must Have (for seniors) or Will Learn Fast (for A-Level talent):

• Solid experience with Python
• Experience with (or strong interest in) Django
• Strong SQL knowledge, ideally Postgres
• Understanding of (or desire to learn deeply):
  • Ledgering & double-entry accounting
  • Payments, settlement, and reconciliation
  • Credit/lending logic
  • Financial data modeling & auditability
• Ability to design secure, reliable API-driven systems
• A systems-thinking mindset: you think about edge cases before they happen

AI-Native Mindset

We expect you to be fluent in using AI to accelerate your work, such as:
– Designing architectures with AI as a reasoning partner
– Rapid prototyping with AI-assisted coding
– Generating tests, docs, and edge-case analysis
– Using agents or automation to speed up repetitive engineering tasks
– Understanding what AI can and cannot do safely in financial systems

AI is not an add-on. It is part of how you build.

Fintech Domain Curiosity

You don’t have to come in knowing everything — but you must have the obsession and curiosity to become an expert in:
– Accounting logic
– Payments infrastructure
– Lending and treasury flows
– Bank integrations and compliance constraints
– Real-world money movement
