Senior Engineering Manager

Job Summary
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will plan, lead, and manage engineering and cloud services programs. You will lead a team of software engineers to implement, test and deliver high quality additions to our Cloud Volumes Service product in collaboration with our partners at Microsoft.
Responsibilities will include:
- A major part of your responsibility will be to provide direction and supervision to teams of engineers responsible for the end-to end delivery of features.
- Utilise previously acquired technical experience to become actively involved in day-to-day projects to meet schedules and resolve problems.
- Take responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing.
- Communicate status, key issues, and changes to leadership.
- Suggest and initiate process improvements as needed.
Job Requirements
- Provide guidance and support to managers overseeing teams of engineers.
- You must demonstrate leadership and vision in determining and driving both tactical and strategic decisions.
- Be responsible for unstructured tasks and will need new perspectives and creative approaches.
- Show initiative and good judgement in preventing problems and proposing solutions to identified issues.
- Manage workloads, set priorities, and drive results independently.
- Work collaboratively with a distributed global team to meet aggressive goals while responding to changing business and technical conditions.
- Managing staffing, development, and performance management programs for the engineering.
Other Skills and Education
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise and address mutliple projects concurrently.
- Working with Azure/AWS or GCP is a major advantage.
- Familiarity with the Atlassian collaboration tools, including Jira and Confluence.
- 8+ years of experience preferred, ideally including a role in management with at least 4+ years in people management.
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
