QA Specialist / Software Tester

We want to hire a Quality Assurance Specialist or Software Tester who is passionate about delivering high-quality software and user experience. We are looking for someone who is patient enough to test things over and over again and give no slack when it comes to launching a great experience for all our customers.

This means we need to be in the forefront of user experience, design and implementation. We are working with multiple partners domestically and internationally which provide different expertise, services and components. We need to build our products to support multiple regions, languages, currencies and so on.

CUSTOMER ADVOCATE WITH A TESTING APPROACH

Our testers are a part of the Icelandair Digital Labs where customer focused innovation is the name of the game. Testers are responsible for the accurate testing and evaluation of our software programs against design specifications, user requirements and/or other sources to ensure the highest quality. Our methods are collaborative, our group is inclusive and our minds are exploratory. We encourage skill building, knowledge sharing and professional growth.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Test software to assure quality of new and existing functionality.
  • Test functionality on various applications and platforms.
  • Testing and verifying site appearance, functionality and performance.
  • Logging deviations from requirements, tracking and retesting of those defects.
  • Review and interpret software requirements into traceable tests plans and cases.
  • Certify quality and approve releases against established acceptance criteria.
  • Make recommendations and implement quality process improvements.
  • Assist in determining test methodology and test data setup.
  • Work closely with development and design team to drive rapid resolution of identified issues.

    Ideal skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Psychology, or comparable education.
  • Previous QA or software testing experience.
  • Automation experience is a great plus.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with different teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity and interest for current browsers and mobile technology.
  • Passion for troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Experience of Agile software methods and continuous delivery.
  • Knowledge of professional software and engineering practices.
  • Ability to understand who the user is, what needs and requirements they have and the natural behavior they exhibit.
