Tern Systems is an established and trusted provider of Air Traffic Control solutions. An emerging product-led organisation, we are headquartered in Reykjavík with a satellite office in Budapest. Our product suites are attracting new customers and expanding our international presence. In recent years, we have grown to over 70 employees and serve customers across Europe and Asia.

As a Project Manager you are responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of complex systems to customers within the responsibility of the Customer Success division. You work closely with stakeholders, including product managers, system architects and customer success teams so as to understand customer requirements and manage the delivery of systems that meet those needs.

As an ideal candidate for the Project Manager position, you have expertise in project management which enables you to oversee project timelines, budgets and resources, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of customer product delivery projects from initiation to closure
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation and risk management
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues
  • Communicate project status, issues and risks to stakeholders and senior management
  • Ensure that project documentation, including project plans, status reports and issue logs, are maintained and up-to-date
  • Facilitate meetings, including project kick-off, status and retrospective meetings
  • Participate in customer product planning and roadmapping, and contribute to technical feasibility assessments
  • Manage customer relationships, including regular communication, issue resolution and escalation management
  • Constantly update knowledge and skills
  • Execute other tasks that are required by the respective supervisor

Preferred experience and educational background

  • University degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent education
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project management with a focus on customer product delivery projects is required

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile and ISO 21500
  • PMP (IPMA C or B) certification or equivalent
  • Experience in customer-facing roles, such as customer success and/or account management
  • Experience in managing complex projects with cross-functional teams and stakeholders combined with strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
