Product Software Developer

Aftra is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution and a spin-off from the cybersecurity company Syndis. Aftra simulates hacker methods and methodologies, making cybersecurity simple and actionable for the C-suite. At Aftra, we have a diverse team of experts, and you will join a fun and ambitious team.

As a Product Software Developer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of Aftra’s SaaS solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity to architect and build complex applications in a collaborative environment that values initiative, continuous learning, and growth. You will play a key role in the evolution of the frontend codebase, working closely with the team to drive technical decisions that ensure our complex security data is presented in a simple, actionable, and user-centric way. The role reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer.

Responsibilities:

Architect and Develop: Design and implementation of scalable, high-performance applications.
User Experience: Collaborate closely with designers and backend developers to translate complex cybersecurity data into clean, intuitive, and “sensible” user interfaces.
Code Quality & Standards: Establish and maintain frontend best practices, including component design patterns, automated testing, and code reviews.
Performance: Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance the performance of the client-side application to ensure a snappy experience for users.
Collaboration: Collaboration and sharing knowledge is key in how we elevate the quality of our work.
Modern Tooling: Maintain and improve the build pipeline and tooling to keep the developer experience world-class.

Qualifications:

Frontend Framework Experience: You have extensive hands-on experience building complex client-side applications with a modern JavaScript framework such as Vue.js, React, Angular, or Svelte.
Styling: You have a strong command of modern CSS and experience building responsive interfaces with Tailwind CSS.
Testing Mindset: You believe that frontend code should be tested just as rigorously as backend code.
API Integration: Strong experience consuming RESTful APIs and handling asynchronous data flows gracefully.
Working well individually: You are capable of taking a feature from concept to “done” with minimal hand-holding.
Working well in a team: You collaborate across verticals to come up with solutions that delight.
Security Interest: An interest and/or experience working in web/application security is a big plus.
Open Mindedness: An open-minded approach to AI development and tooling is welcome. We value pragmatic, results-focused engineering and not “vibe coding.”
