Embedded Software Engineer
Marel is looking for an Embedded Software Specialist to join a strong and growing team that is developing a software framework for Marel embedded machineries. The team is part of the Technical Center and is re-sponsible for platform maintenance and development of new features as well helping the embedded eco-system to grow. This includes software development, hardware considerations, architectural decisions and defining application interfaces.
We are looking for an individual who can work in a dynamic environment, who is self-driven and is highly motivated. Good knowledge of C/C++ and Linux is preferable. Knowledge of embedded hardware is a great advantage.
The Technical Center is part of Innovation and its main role is to develop and maintain common technical platforms, provide technical expertise across industries and product groups for new product development and life cycle management.
As one of our experts your main tasks are:
Software development in C/C++, LUA, Python, JS and Bash
Improve and maintain the software framework
Assist other groups in Marel
Participate in architectural design of the platform
Participate in defining and/or designing communication protocols
Installing and implementing configurations for Linux
Legacy Linux insights; kernel and drivers
Agile work methods
University degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or relevant field
3+ years of software development experience in related fields
Good knowledge of C/C++ and Linux
Experience with multi-threaded and real-time environment
Acquired debugging skills
Knowledge of software design and patterns
Ability to solve problems in a multi-disciplinary way
Enthusiastic about technology
Enjoys learning and researching
Team player with strong communication skills
Ability to be acquainted with the needs of the user and of the process
The job requires some traveling on an as-needs basis
