Software Tester

A software tester is involved in the quality assurance stage of software development and deployment. They conduct automated and manual tests to ensure the software created by developers is fit for purpose. Software testing involves the analysis of software, and systems, to avert risks and prevent software issues. In the planning and preparation phases of the testing, testers should review and contribute to test plans, as well as analyzing, reviewing and assessing requirements and design specifications. They may be involved in or even be the primary people identifying test conditions and creating test designs, test cases, test procedure specifications and test data.

Main assignments:

• Carry out regression testing every time when changes are made to the code to fix defects.
• Creation of test scripts, test processes, test cases and test data.
• Detect software failures so that defects may be discovered and corrected.
• Develop and document application test plans based on Product Backlog Items and technical specifications.
• Examine code and execution of code in various environments.
• Execute all the test case and report defects, define severity and priority for each defect.
• Maintaining and executing the test plan within the team.
• Modify test cases.
• Participate in the Agile development process as a member of a cross-functional development team.
• Participate in walkthroughs of testing procedures.
• Performs: stress testing; performance testing; functional testing; scalability testing.

Education and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree is an advantage
• Experience of working in, or with software development teams
• Knowledge and experience of testing software
• Experience of automated testing is an advantage
• Organized practices
• Good collaboration skills
• Good communication and English skills
